Of all the forms preserved in the archives of the Manufacture, the Virgin and Child is undoubtedly the most unexpected and moving discovery.
Discovered during an exploration of the workshops, in our historical molds, this piece stands out for its delicate posture and remarkable expression, bearing witness to the gesture of an artist whose work we have inherited.
Reissued today with the greatest respect for its original form, it reconnects with the intimate and spiritual character of the primitive object.

Fashioned from sandstone and then entirely hand-worked, the statue displays particularly fine lines. Carefully crafted, its expression is graceful and its silhouette balanced, revealing the full mastery of the artist's hand.
Every detail, such as the draping, the curve of the faces and the softness of the posture, underlines the complexity of the work and the patience required to complete it.

Each statue is unique, marked by the long time it took to create and by the demands of a know-how passed down through generations.

Made from frost-resistant stoneware, fired at very high temperatures, the statue is naturally resistant to weathering, and to frost in particular.
It can thus find its place outside, in a niche in the facade, on the edge of an entrance, sheltered by a porch or even in a secret corner of the garden, where it creates a presence that is both protective and poetic.

Due to its delicacy and complexity, the Virgin and Child is a demanding piece, requiring an exceptional amount of time to manufacture.
It is entirely made to order, in the workshops of the Manufacture, by our most experienced ceramists.
