More commonly known as a "spouted terrine," this utensil was originally intended for pharmacists for their preparations. Cheesemakers have given it a different use, the spout allowing for the easy draining of whey.
Over time, the beaked terrine has also found its place in French regional cuisine, used for traditional recipes such as the famous cinnamon rice, the "Teurgoule" in Normandy, or the vegetable tian in Provence.
Practical and versatile, it combines functionality, artisanal heritage and timeless charm.
