Bowl with Spout
More commonly known as a “spouted terrine,” this stoneware terrine is a traditional utensil rooted in French artisanal craftsmanship. Originally used by pharmacists for their preparations, it was later adopted by cheesemakers, who found a new purpose for it: the spout allows whey to be easily drained during the cheese-making process.
Over time, the spouted terrine became a staple of regional French cuisine and was used for numerous traditional recipes, such as the famous cinnamon rice — Teurgoule from Normandy — as well as vegetable tian from Provence. Crafted from raw or glazed stoneware, it offers durability and ease of maintenance while preserving flavours.
Practical and versatile, this spouted terrine combines functionality, artisanal heritage, and timeless charm. Ideal for lovers of traditional cooking, it finds its place in every kitchen, from everyday use to the most authentic regional recipes.
