Cylindrical Box

The cylindrical jar originated in Burgundy kitchens, where it was once used to store condiments and homemade preparations. These jars are reissues of utilitarian models preserved in the Manufacture's archives, and they perpetuate a regional tradition: to preserve, macerate, and protect. They were already part of daily life in rural pantries, where stoneware was valued for its robustness and natural impermeability.

Made of stoneware and fired at very high temperatures, they become completely vitrified: the material absorbs neither odor, nor flavor, nor moisture. Their opacity protects food from light, ensuring healthy and long-lasting preservation. These are reliable, hygienic containers made to last.

Multiple uses, from the pantry to the contemporary kitchen

Today, their simple, straight, and stable shape, as well as their versatile capacities, allow them to meet a wide variety of uses.
Maceration in oil or vinegar (fruits, vegetables, herbs, zests), preparation of homemade condiments, storage of spices, dried fruits, cereals or sugar, container for ice cubes, fresh herbs or zests.
The non-porous stoneware ensures perfect neutrality, no transmission of taste or odor, even during long macerations.
